My cousin Tanya was visiting from North Carolina, and so we got together and took the kids to Desert Breeze Park to picnic and play. It was so fun laughing and talking about when we were younger, our college semester that we were roommates, and now being mothers. I still remember having sleepovers at her house and Aunt Bev making us green eggs and green orange juice because it was St. Patrick's Day. I remember our "dance parties" in our apt. And now I have 3 kids and she has 1, and we live on opposite sides of North America. I wish I could see her more often. Where does the time go? But I will store our fun at the park in my memory, so in another couple years we will look back and laugh and talk some more.
I had brought some old hot dog buns to let the kids feed the ducks. As soon as the kids starting throwing crumbs the ground became infested with pigeons. I started singing, "Feed the birds..." but the kids didn't think it was too funny. I couldn't believe how many pigeons there were. They just came out of nowhere.
