I can't believe our little man is 5 years old!  I remember when he was first born and Tyler was still in school.  I was so excited to have a little companion to always keep me company.  We went on jogs together, watched t.v. together, took naps together, did everything together!  In the mornings if he woke up before me, Tyler would bring him into our room and lay him next to me while Tyler got ready for work.  Now Cooper is up at 6:30 a.m. never wanting to miss eating breakfast with Tyler.  He has just always been the best companion.  I want him to know how much we love him.  He is an amazing boy with amazing talents!  He is obedient, kind, smart, loving, friendly, patient, and a wonderful son and brother.  Ella and Addison love him as their brother, and he is always including them in his games, ideas and schemes. :-)  I always prayed that I would have a boy first, and I'm so grateful that Heavenly Father put him in our family.  He's our "Bubba".  Cooper - Happy Birthday!  We love you!

Our kids get a birthday party with friends every-other year.  So this year Cooper got a family party, and he only wanted to go to Chuck-E-Cheese.  It was lots of fun!  He loves playing video games and thinks arcade games are the coolest thing around.  So we went to Chuck-E-Cheese, grabbed some pizza, and let Cooper and Ella go to town with the arcades.   Afterwards we met up with the rest of the Jones Fam for presents and cake at our house.  Thank you to our families for helping make Cooper's birthday so special!  He said, "This is the best birthday I've ever had." (Hopefully, we're able to top it next year.)  :-)

A Child's Reasoning

So any of you that are into politics will appreciate this dialogue.  Cooper went over to his friend Easton's house to play one afternoon, and afterwards his Mom, Tori, told me the conversation she overheard:

Easton:  So Cooper, who did you vote for for president?
Cooper: What do you mean?
Easton: Did you vote for Obama or McCain?
Cooper: I voted for Obama because he builds trains.
Easton: Oh, I voted for McCain because he makes candy canes.

A week previous to this conversation Tyler was reading the newspaper while eating breakfast and there was a headline saying that Pres. Obama was going to build a high-speed railway across the nation.  Since Cooper LOVES trains he thought that whoever Obama is, he's great because he wants to build trains. :-)  I love the amazing minds of 4 year-olds.  Things aren't complex with them.  They just say things how they see them, and take everything for face value.  There's no beating around the bush when it comes to Cooper.

Bounce Who?

"Grandma and Grandpa from California" (that's what Ella calls them...it's never just Grandma or Grandpa...it's "Grandma from California or Grandpa from California)  :-)  came to Arizona for Cooper's 5th Birthday!  We went to Bounce U on Tuesday evening for their family bounce night.  It was a great deal.  You only have to pay for the kids and then adults get in free.  So we paid for 2 kids, and then 4 adults got in free.  And as long as you have socks you can do all the bounce toys with the kids.  So if you are looking for something to do in the heat...go to Bounce Who?  Bounce U! :-)

Cooper vs. Ella

Where's Rocky Balboa?

Ella found some balloons and her hair was standing straight up!

This is my favorite picture.  Mom & Dad raced each other thru a obstacle blow-up course and Dad gave Mom a head-start.  I couldn't believe how fast Mom was moving!  It was lots of fun going there with them!

Grandpa & Addison

I made Tyler take a picture of Cooper and me.  I'm usually always the one taking the pictures and so I'm never in any of them.  So enjoy the picture.  You won't see me again for a couple of months. :-)

This slide was a lot steeper than it looked + add 3 adults and it gets even steeper from the weight.  They were flying!  This picture reminds me of the picture they take of you on the Splash Mountain ride at Disneyland.

Cooper is always posing.  He said that this pose is called "The Lion Attack".

Typical Dad
Anyone that knows my Dad, knows that he is Power Nap Pro!  It doesn't matter where we are, he can always find a spot to take a 5-10 min. nap, and then he's ready to go!

Rainy Celebration

Wes graduated from Highland High School on Thursday.  It was wet and wild and we loved it!  You would have thought we were in Washington by the rain that was coming down!  It will definitely be a graduation we'll remember.
 Congratulations Wesley Celo Jones!!!

Wes is all grown up!

Dad, Annie, & Mom
The bleachers emptied slowly as people couldn't handle the rain anymore.  We stuck it out until the end!  We love you Wes!

Can you see all the umbrellas?  None of the graduates had umbrellas - I felt so bad for them!

Annie showing you how we felt by the end of the ceremonies. (just kidding)

"Can we go play in the rain after?"

Tyler, Addi, and Me

Okay, so I felt so horrible for this guy.  He was sitting right in front of us.  Tyler was holding a huge umbrella that he had borrowed from his parents, and every couple of minutes it would dump water right onto this guy.  He would turn around and look at us when it would happen, and we didn't know what to do.  No matter what angle we held the umbrella at, it would dump right on him.  Eventually he moved, but I still feel bad.

Cooper's Preschool Graduation

Preschool down...on to Kindergarten!
I can't believe that our little boy is going to be in Elementary School this fall!  Time has really been flying by, and we've been trying to enjoy every minute of it.  Cooper loved going to Happy Hopper Preschool with Ms. Kim.  He learned everything from how a caterpillar turns into a butterfly (and watching it happen) to counting to 100.  Ms. Kim was an amazing teacher and we're excited for Ella to go to her next year!  Cooper was sad to graduate and is a little nervous about going to the "Big School", but I know he'll do great.

The kids performed the songs and poems they had learned during the year.

Cooper received the "Excellence" award.
