Sewing Lessons

Ella has been taking sewing lessons once a month and has made some super cute things including a pillowcase, burn cloth & bib, rag quilt blanket, apron, and this skirt.  I love that she loves to sew and can't wait to see what she makes next!

2 Weeks

It's amazing how the days are flying by.  I can't say that I've done a lot over the last 2 weeks besides feeling groggy and very sleep-deprived, but I didn't want to miss documenting how Mae grows.  Here's a few pictures - most of them her eyes are shut but all she does right now is eat and sleep.

Our friends brought us dinner one night and made these adorable cookies. :-)

There's something about little feet that I just love.  They are just so little and delicate but so detailed.  You can see the mark on her left heel from her blood test. :-(

The Newest Jones

Mae Jones arrived on Monday, February 10, 2014 at 8:04 a.m.
She was 7 lbs. 9 oz. and 20 inches
Everything went smoothly with the delivery and we're grateful that she's finally here!

She came out looking a lot like Ella and Clara, but as the days have passed she looks a lot like Cooper and Addison.

I'm feeling really tired but really happy.

We had lots of visitors in the hospital which was nice because it made the time go faster.  By the second day I was walking the halls waiting to get discharged. :-) (I don't mind hospitals but I hate being the patient.)

First photo of Dad with all 5 kids!

We made Cooper hold her for a picture.  (He's not to fond of little babies - he likes them once they can play with you.)  The rest of the time he was more interested in the tv. :-)

Zoom! Zoom!

Addison has learned to ride her bike without training wheels!!!  We kept trying and trying to get her to do it, but she resisted until one afternoon….And now she zooms around the neighborhood like she's been riding a bike her entire life. :-)  We are so excited for her!

*And yes, it is February and she is dressed in shorts and a short sleeve shirt.  It's been warmer than normal in AZ this month, but we're not complaining. :-)

Ella's Baptism Day

"I like to look for rainbows, whenever there is rain.  And ponder on the beauty of an earth made clean again.  I want my life to be as clean as earth right after rain.  I want to be the best I can.  And live with God again.  I know when I am baptized my wrongs are washed away.  And I can be forgiven and improve myself each day.   I want my life to be as clean as earth right after rain.  I want to be the best I can.  And live with God again."

Tyler and I couldn't hold back the tears as we watched all the primary kids sing this song at the Stake Baptism day.  Ella, Cooper, Addison, and Clara were all up on the stand singing and the spirit was so strong.  Ella has been counting down the days for at least the last 6 months until her baptism day.  She wasn't scared to meet with Bishop Clarke and after some FHE's on faith, baptism, repentance, and the gift of the Holy Ghost she was ready!  We are so proud of her and her decision to become a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  Nothing could wipe her smile off today.  She was baptized on February 8, 2014.

She was baptized and confirmed by Tyler

I do not like to take pictures when I'm pregnant, but for Ella I made an exception.  Just keep in mind that I am 40 weeks pregnant and swollen.  Yep, I went to Ella's baptism and then the next day we had a new Jones baby!  The timing was perfect. :-)

So grateful for all the family, friends, and neighbors that came and supported Ella on her special day.  It couldn't have been a more beautiful day!

Happy Birthday Ella!!!

Ella turned the big #8!!!  I don't know what we would do without this girl in our family!?  She is always so eager to help others - especially her brother and sisters.  She is kind, generous, creative, fun, optimistic, and truly loves others and tries to serve others daily.  We are sad that she is growing up so quickly, but so excited to see what awaits her in life.  We love you Ella!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

For her birthday she wanted to go ice skating, so she invited a couple of her closest friends and after having pizza and presents we headed off to the rink!

Addi bought her some earrings and makeup with her own money.  It was so cute and thoughtful.

She is definitely our enchanting Ella. :-)

Clara is ready to hit the ice!

Since I was pregnant and due in a couple of weeks I had to sit in the bleachers. :-(  So it was up to Tyler to skate with all the girls.

Cooper brought a friend so he wouldn't be alone.  It ended up being a little trickier than they were both expecting. :-)

Clara LOVED ice skating!

And by the end of our session Addi was ice skating all by herself!

When I asked Ella what kind of birthday cake she wanted she said, "I want an oreo cake!".  Well, thanks to pinterest I found a great homemade oreo cake recipe and it was delicious!  It was homemade white cake with layers of buttercream frosting and layers of crushed up oreos with an oreo crumb topping.
