Some good ol' fishin'

Our neighbors love the outdoors like we do! It is so fun to always know that other kids will be outside riding bikes and playing when the homework is done and weather cools off. We are so blessed to live in a wonderful neighborhood and have wonderful neighbors! The other evening we got invited to go fishing with the "H" Family. We went over to the Farm Bureau near our house. The weather was delightful, the kids were gay with excitement, and I couldn't believe how many fish they caught!

Cooper, Brett, and Addi checking out Cooper's fish.

I took unhooked Ella's fish for her...Yeah, I was pretty proud of myself. I pulled it out pretty hard though, so the poor fish probably doesn't have a lip left.

Gabe caught a small cat fish!

We were hanging out on the grass, I was enjoying getting eaten by mosquitos, and the kids were having the time of the life when suddenly...the sprinklers came on! We all scrambled to collect everything (which at first I forgot Addison, so she was standing in the middle of pelting water drops...I guess I'm not a very good mother bear?) and as we're running for safety we hear a scream! Jackson's fish was fresh off the hook and on the ground waiting to get thrown back in the water, so when the sprinklers came on Jackson hurriedly tried to kick his fish back into the water. The sharp spine on the fish punctured his toe and left a nice mark. You know that fish is thinking he won that fight. :-)
