We've started a new family tradition of going to Prescott to celebrate the 4th of July. Not only is it nice to get out of the heat, but they do a lot of fun things since it's a smaller town. Cooler weather, good food, fun games and activities, town parade, free mini golf, and awesome fireworks!
Since we were going to be gone on the 4th we wanted to let the kids do be able to do sparklers, etc. so we invited my sister's family over for BBQ, swim, and fireworks a couple days before.
Clara and her cousin having fun dancing with the sparklers.
That's nice mischievious grin Cooper.
He was excited to help dad set off some fireworks.
Hot husband
This year instead of going to the rodeo we took the kids to the big Prescott Fair. Weather was beautiful and the kids had a blast. Wish the lines would have been a little shorter for the games, but it was still fun. Wes and Kelsea joined us for the day. It was super fun to have them come along.
Here was our little setup. It was crazy what some people brought with them. Everything but the kitchen sink. :-)
Cooper and Ella as human hamsters in their ball
Cooper and Ella were so excited to do the "BIG BALLS" like the ones from "Wipeout". They did this game the most because the line would move fast (hardly anyone could make it past the 1st ball). Cooper made it pretty far one time...
It took us an hour in line to get to the trampoline bungie jumping, but according to the kids (except Cooper) it was worth it.
They even let Clara have a turn and she was in heaven. She kept saying "I'm flying!" and giggling.
Mae was super patient and happy all day.
Fun with glowsticks in the dark. Cooper made this.
We stayed the night at a motel and then got up and went to the parade in the morning. Little did we know it would start POURING on us. We were seriously drenched but we stuck it out under our umbrellas (luckily Tyler had gone back to the car to get them for shade...little did we know we'd need them for the RAIN!). Still a fun day!
We have our patriotic mustaches on compliments of Grandma Wagner.
Even the wimpy kid was wearing a mustache
Whoa Addi! :-)
The start of the parade
The kids were eagerly awaiting any flying handouts or candy thrown to them.
After the rain passed we went and did our annual mini golf game.
Only $1.50 for the whole family to golf! :-)
