Gilbert Days Parade

One of our family traditions has been going to the Gilbert Days Parade.  I'm posting these pictures late because the parade was the weekend before Thanksgiving, but I still wanted to share these fun pictures.  The parade goes thru downtown Gilbert which is full of historical buildings and fun landscaping.  It's just a neat thing to see so many people from the community come together and celebrate their town.  We LOVE living in Gilbert and feel blessed to raise our kids in such an uplifting and family-oriented town.

We're waiting for the parade to start and as you can see it is pretty chilly.  My sister in Nebraska might have thought it was hot, but our thin Arizona blood was feeling the COLD!

One of the Gilbert Days Queens.  The girls thought she was so pretty.  And her horse was covered in glitter.

The parade wouldn't be the same without Sheriff Joe Arpaio.  Gilbert loves him and always re-elects him.  He's the guy that makes the inmates wear pink underwear and black/white striped jail suits.

The girls.  This was a sweet moment.

There's a bike shop in Gilbert that makes and sells cool bikes.  These are double and triple decker bikes.  Very cool.

This was one of the coolest cars in the parade.  An old De Lorean just like the one in Back to the Future.  After seeing this we borrowed the Back to the Future movies from our library and watched them with the kids.  (FYI - there was a lot more swear words than Tyler and I remembered from watching them as kids.)

Our crazy girl running in between floats to grab candy off the ground. :-)

Happy Gilbert Days!
