For those of you that know me, know that I don't really cook. But I try my hardest! My sister got the cooking genes, and I got the long-leg genes. Julia I will trade you!?
But I am pretty proud of myself. Last week I made homemade croissant rolls (that's right HOMEMADE!), canned peaches with some ladies in my ward, made a white coconut cake from SCRATCH, and made brownies for my beehives - sorry they were from a box. Can you make brownies from scratch? I don't think I knew that was possible?
Just FYI I normally don't make treats for any of my church classes, but 2 Sundays ago Sis. Thompson asked the girls to open their scriptures to a certain verse. As I looked around the room to see who I needed to share my scriptures with, every single girl had their scriptures out and opened. I was suddenly overwhelmed with joy and I was so proud of "my" girls. All 14 had their scriptures opened ready to learn. We have such amazing girls in our ward. I am so proud of their "example of the believers".
Thank you Lisa, Angela, and Wylene for showing me the ropes in canning peaches! Jana - thank you for letting us use your amazing kitchen and invade your house for a full day! I hope I can do it again next year!
My lovely coconut cake...oh so yummy!

love this post. I'm proud of you too. and even though I'm not a coconut fan, it was extremely delicious!! and yes, our girls are pretty incredible.
Wow! Good job! If it weren't for Disneyland last month I was going to try canning peaches with my neighbor for the first time so I'm really jealous of you right now. Maybe next year I'll get a shot. Your cake looks great...and by the way, once you've had a good homemade brownie you'll never go back to the box. ;)
Yum, yum, yum! Looks delicious. It looks like you have some cooking genes to me.
