Family is Everything

We had a wonderful opportunity to drive up to Provo, Utah this past week for a family reunion and a funeral.  The trip was bittersweet...Of course it was sad to attend my Grandpa Layton's funeral, but it was amazing to have everyone there to love and support my Grandma and be physical evidence of the legacy my Grandparent's have created and will leave behind them on this earth.  My Grandpa Layton was almost 93, he had 9 kids, and a zillion grandkids and great-grandkids. :-)  If you knew him, you knew he loved two things: spanish and trains.  He couldn't speak spanish (that's where I got my talent from), but he could build trains!  I'm so glad that we were able to be with family and celebrate Grandpa's wonderful life on this earth.  Anytime someone dies, it makes me reflect on the Atonement and Resurrection.  I'm so glad that I'll be able to see him again!  I'm excited to hear him call me "Susie"!  Thank you Grandpa for so many great memories!

We are a happy family!  (Well, except for Ella who fell and got hurt right before we took this picture.)

The Layton Family

These are some pictures that were taken the last time we saw Grandpa.  I'm so grateful our kids have live memories with their Great-Grandpa Layton.

My Grandpa built this bridge and all the grandchildren have a picture of themselves on this bridge, so it's really special to me to have a picture of my kids on the same bridge.

Here is my picture on the bridge.  I think I was around Cooper's age. :-)

That's so crazy to see relatives of mine in that picture too! I see Curtis & Ruth (my dad's cousin)& a few of my 2nd cousins, the red headed Laytons :) like Tim & Cecily that I got to know @ our Huntzinger Fam. Reunions.
I heard their parents were moving to Gilbert just a couple miles down the road from you guys. Pretty cool.
