A little PB&J & Junie B.

Whenever the kids are eating breakfast or lunch, they ask if Tyler or I will read to them. Right now we are having fun reading the Junie B. Jones series by Barbara Park. Today, we were sitting down, eating some PB&J, reading some Junie B., when suddenly Ella says, "Excuse me, mom." And here is how the rest of the conversation followed:

E: Excuse me, Mom.
E: Excuse me, Mom!
K: One minute honey. Let me finish reading this page.
E: Excuse me, Mom!
K: Yes, what?
E: I think you are getting old!
K: Okay...
E: And soon you are going to get old and die, and then who will take care of us?
K: I'm not that old. And by the time I am old enough to die, you will be old and married with your own family.
C: Yeah, Ella. And besides, Dad is way older than mom, and so he will die first, and mom will still be here to take care of us.

I love how little minds think.

I kind of love this. I think Cooper's comment is the best. How did Tyler feel about that? haha

Isn't it amazing how little minds work and the things they worry about!
